Triple digits recorded for positive cases in the last 24 hours

The ministry has reported that 1,018 people have tested positive for the virus from 6,649 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings the total registered infections in the country to 51,851. From today’s cases, 989 are Kenyans with 29 being foreigners with the gender distribution being 657 for males and 361 females. The age range is between 9 month and 96 years old.

The county distribution is as follows; Nairobi 199, Mombasa 117, Kiambu 102, Kericho 73, Nakuru 67, Bungoma 66, Uasin Gishu 55, Kisumu 50, Kilifi 40, Kisii 30, Bomet 18, Siaya 18, Nyeri 16, West Pokot 16, Meru 14, Isiolo 14, Machakos 12, Murang’a 10, Nandi 10, Laikipia 9, Kajiado 9, Garissa 9, Busia 8, Tharaka Nithi 6, Nyamira 6, Kirinyaga 5, Vihiga 5, Samburu 5, Kakamega 4, Kwale 4, Trans Nzoia 3, Baringo 3, Wajir 3, Turkana 2, Narok 2, Nyandarua 2, Taita Taveta 2, Tana River 2 and Migori 1.

In Nairobi, 28 are from Lang’ata, Westlands 27, Dagoretti North 20, Embakasi North 16, Dagoretti South 14, Kasarani 12, Makadara 11, 10 each from Embakasi Central, Embakasi West and Mathare, 9 from Embakasi South, 8 from Ruaraka, 7 each from Kibra and Starehe, 6 from Kamukunji and 2 each from Embakasi East and Roysambu. In Mombasa, 42 are from Mvita, Kisauni 23, Nyali 21, Jomvu 20, Likoni 7, Bamburi 3 and Changamwe 2. In Kiambu, 76 are from Thika Town, 6 from Kikuyu, 4 each from Gatundu North and Githunguri, 3 each from Juja and Lari, 2 each from Kiambaa and Ruiru and 1 each from Kiambu Town and Limuru. In Kericho, 58 are from Ainamoi, 9 from Belgut, Bureti 4, Kipkelion East and Sigowet 1.

In Nakuru, 38 are from Naivasha, Nakuru West 12, Nakuru East 11, 2 each from Molo and Njoro and 1 each from Nakuru North and Rongai. In Bungoma, 38 are from Kandunyi, Kimilili 23, Webuye West 3 and Mt Elgon and Webuye East 1. In Uasin Gishu, 50 are from Ainabkoi, 2 each from Moiben and Turbo and 1 from Soya. In Kisumu, 46 are from Kisumu Central, Kisumu East 2 and 1 each from Kilifi West and Seme. In Kilifi, 31 are from Kilifi North, Kaloleni 5, Magarini 3 and Rabai 1. In Kisii, 18 are from Kitutu Chache South, Nyaribari Chache 8, Bobasi 2 and 1 each from Bomachoge Chache and Bonchari. In Bomet, Bomet Central and Bomet East have 9 cases each.

In Siaya, 8 are from Alego Usonga, Bondo 6, Rarieda 3 and Ugenya 1. In Nyeri, 12 are from Nyeri Central, 3 from Mathira East and 1 from Kieni West. In west Pokot, all cases are from West Pokot with the cases in Meru being from Imenti North with 12 and Imenti South 2. In Isiolo, Isiolo Town and Merti have 7 cases each while Machakos has 8 in Athi River and 4 in Machakos Town. In Murang’a, 8 are from Kiharu and 1 each from Gatanga and Kandara. In Nandi, 5 are from Emgwen, Chesumei 4 and Tinderet 1. All cases in Laikipia are from Laikipia East with the cases in Kajiado being from Kajiado North with 4, 2 each from Kajiado Central and Kajiado West and 1 from Loitoktok.

In Garissa, 6 are from Dadaab, 2 from Ijara and 1 from Garissa Town while in Busia, Matayos and Teso North have 4 each. In Tharaka Nithi, all cases are from Chuka while in Nyamira, 3 are from Nyamira Town and 1 each from Masaba, Nyamira North and Nyamira South. In Kirinyaga, 2 are from Kirinyaga Central and 1 each from Kirinyaga North, Kirinyaga South and Kirinyaga East. In Vihiga, 3 are from Mbale and 2 from Luanda with all cases from Samburu coming from Samburu East. In Kakamega, 4 are from Mumias West and 1 from Mumias East wile in Kwale, all cases are from Msambweni.

The cases in Trans Nzoia are all from Kiminini with Baringo’s cases coming from Baringo Central. All of Wajir’s cases are from Wajir East with Turkana’s cases recorded in Turkana West. Narok’s cases are from Trans Mara West, Nyandarua’s cases from Oljoroorok, Taita Taveta’s cases from Voi, Tana River’s cases from Galole and the case In Migori from Uriri.

A total of 426 patients have recovered today, 312 being from home based care and 114 discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 35,258 with deaths rising to 950 as 16 people have succumbed to the disease.
