The ministry today announced 51 new positive cases of Corona virus within the last 24 hours from  1,933 samples tested bringing the number of infections to 963.

Another 22 people have been discharged within the same time period bringing the number of recoveries up to 358 with no deaths recorded.

From the confirmed cases, 32 are male and 19 female aged between 2 years and 63 years.

The health CS said that the ministry is putting up measures across the country to try and curb the spread of the disease which includes screening along border points and activation of labs at border points such as Busia, Wajir, Namanga and in Naivasha.

The ministry also identified hotspots for targeted testing such as Kamukunji, Dagoreti North, Embakasi East in Nairobi county and Mvita In Mombasa.

Testing capacity has also been scaled up from the  2 labs in Nairobi at the beginning to 20 labs in 10 counties with 46, 784 samples so far tested.
