Sample testing increases with 3,255 samples tested in the last 24 hours

The ministry has tested 3,255 samples in the last 24 hours from which 133 people have tested positive for the virus. This now brings the number of infections to 3,860.

All cases are Kenyans with 88 males and 45 females with the youngest being 13 years and the oldest 90 years.

The counties affected are Nairobi with 86,  Mombasa 27, Kiambu 7, Busia 5, Muranga, Kilifi, kajiado and Migori 2 cases each and Machakos, Murang’a 1 case each.

In Nairobi, the cases are spread in Westlands with 13, Embakasi South 10, Makadara 9, Lang’ata 8, Embakasi East and Roysambu 5 each,  Starehe 4, Ruaraka 3, Embakasi Central 3, Dagoretti North 3, Embakasi North 1, Embakasi West 1, Kasarani 1, Dagoretti South 1 and Kibra 1.

In Mombasa, 16 of the cases are from Mvita, 6 from Kisauni,3 from Nyali, 1 from Changamwe and 1 from Jomvu. In Kiambu, Kiambaa has 3 cases with Kabete, Juja, Kikuyu and Kiambu Town each having 1 case. Kilifi’s cases are from Kaloleni and Kilifi North.

In Kajiado 1 case is from Kajiado East and another from Kajiado west, while Migori has 1 each from Kuria west and Kuria East. Machakos’ case is from Athi River and Muranga’s case is from Kigumo.

The CS also reported that 40 new recoveries have been discharged from various hospitals bringing the national tally to 1,326. Another person has lost their life within the same period taking the number of deaths in the country to 105.
