Recoveries up to 44,040 with 414 discharged

919 new cases of Corona Virus has been confirmed from 6,135 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The country’s cumulative cases now stands at 66,723. 887 of the new cases are Kenyans with 32 foreigners with the gender being 559 for males and 360 for females. The youngest of the cases is 7 month old and oldest 87 years old.

In terms of county distribution, Nairobi has 345, Mombasa 98, Nakuru 76, Kilifi 74, Kiambu 44, Kericho 41, Trans Nzoia 32, Kisumu 31, Uasin Gishu 24, Kajiado 18, Nyeri 17, Kwale 14, Taita Taveta 13, Machakos 10, Siaya 9, Turkana 9, 7 each from Embu, Lamu and Meru, 6 from West Pokot, 5 each from Kisii,Murang’a,Narok and Marsabit, 3 each from Bomet and Homabay, 2 each from Laikipia, Kirinyaga and Nandi and 1 each from Garissa, Nyandarua, Migori, Vihiga and Kakamega.

In Nairobi, Starehe has 41, Lang’ata 34, 29 each from Dagoretti North and Kibra, 28 from Westlands, 25 each from Kamukunji and Mathare, 24 from Ruaraka, 22 from Embakasi East, 19 from Embakasi West, 18 from Embakasi North, 17 from Dagoretti South, 12 from Roysambu, 8 from Kasarani, 7 from Embakasi Central, 4 from Makadara and 3 from Embakasi South. In Mombasa, 48 are from Mvita, 22 from Jomvu, 12 from Likoni, 11 from Kisauni, 4 from Changamwe and 1 from Nyali. In Nakuru, 47 are from Nakuru West, 20 from Nakuru East, 4 from Naivasha, 2 from Nakuru North and 1 each from Molo, Njoro and Rongai. In Kilifi, 25 cases were recorded in Kilifi South, 24 form Kilifi North, 19 from Malindi, Magarini 3, Rabai 2 and 1 from Kaloleni.

In Kiambu, 19 are from Ruiru, 5 each from Kabete and Kiambu, 4 from Kiambaa, 3 each Juja, Thika and Kikuyu and 1 each from Githunguri and Limuru. In Kericho, 32 are from Ainamoi and 9 from Bureti while in Trans Nzoia, 15 are from Endebess, 9 from Kiminini, 5 from Cherangany, 2 from Saboti and 1 from Kwanza. In Kisumu, 27 are from Kisumu Central, 2 from Kisumu West and 1 each from Kisumu East and Nyando. In Uasin Gishu, 20 are from Ainabkoi and 2 each from Kapseret and Kesses. In Kajiado, 8 are from Kajiado North and 5 each from Kajiado Central and Kajiado East. In Nyeri, 7 are from Nyeri Central, 6 from Mathira East and 4 from Mukurweini.

In Kwale, all cases are from Msambweni while in Taita Taveta, 10 are from Taveta and 3 from Voi. In Machakos, Athi River and Machakos Town have 5 each while in Siaya 5 are from Alego Usonga and 4 from Gem. all cases in Turkana are from Turkana West. In Embu, all cases are from Manyatta and all cases in Lamu from Lamu West. The cases in Meru are from Imenti North with 5 and 1 each in Buuri and Imenti Central. In West Pokot, all cases are from West Pokot. The cases in Kisii are from Kitutu Chache South, Muranga’s case from Mathioya with 4 and Kiharu 1 and all cases in Narok from Narok North.

All cases in Marsabit are from Saku while all cases in Bomet are from Bomet East. Homabay’s cases are all from Homabay Town, Laikipia’s cases from Laikipia East, Kirinyaga’s cases from Kirinyaga Central and Nandi’s cases Chesumei and Emgwen. Garissa’s case is from Garissa Town, Nyandarua’s case from Ol Kalou, Migori’s case from Rongo, Vihiga’s case from Luanda and Kakamega’s case from Lurambi.

A further 414 people have recovered, 316 being from home-based care and 98 having been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 44,040. Fatalities have risen to 1,203 today after 23 people have succumbed.
