Recoveries continue to rise as 91 discharged

The Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Dr. Rashid Aman has today announced that 117 new cases have been confirmed from a total of 3,043 samples tested in the past 24 hours. This now brings the number of total infections to 4,374.
From today’s cases, 112 are Kenyans and 5 foreigners with 83 being males and 34 females. The age range is 11 years for the youngest and 75 for the oldest.
The distribution of the cases in the counties are; Nairobi 51, Mombasa 22, Kajiado 18, Kiambu 6, Nakuru 5, Garissa 5, Machakos 3, Kericho, Busia, Uasin Gishu 2 each and Wajir 1. In Nairobi, 8 are from Kibra, Lang’ata 8, Makadara 6, Dagoretti North 6, Kamukunji 4, Embakasi South 3, Mathare 2, Ruaraka 2, Embakasi Central 2 and Embakasi West, Starehe together with Kasarani each having 1 case.
In Mombasa, Mvita has 8, Kisauni 5, Changamwe 4, Likoni 3 with Jomvu and Nyali having 1 case each. In Kajiado, Loitoktok has 12, Kajiado Central and Kajiado East 2 cases each while Kajiado North and West have 1 case each. In Kiambu, 3 are from Thika with Kiambu Town, Limuru and Lari having 1 case each. In Nakuru all 5 cases are from Naivasha while the cases in Garissa are from Daadab refugee camp.
The cases in Machakos are from Athi River, Kericho’s cases are from Ainamoi, Busia’s cases are from Teso North and Matayos, Uasin Gishu’s cases are from Kapseret and Soy while in Wajir the case is from Wajir West.
The CAS reported that 91 people have been discharged from various hospitals bringing recoveries up to 1,550. 2 more fatalities have been recorded within the same period raising the number of deaths to 119.
