One more person succumbs as death toll reaches 51

Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for Health, Dr, Mercy Mwangangi today confirmed 72 more cases of Corona virus in the country in the last 24 hours from a sample of 2,711 tested.
She confirmed that 70 of the cases are Kenyans, 1 Ugandan and 1 Somali with 44 of them being male and 28 females. The age distribution is between 12 years and 78 years for the oldest.
Nairobi recorded 52 cases, Mombasa 11, Kiambu 7 with Turkana and Isiolo recording 1 case each. Turkana now becomes the latest county to be hit by the pandemic.
In Nairobi, 21 of the cases are in Langata, 15 in Dagoretti North, 2 in Embakasi, Kasarani 3, Kamukunji 4, Kibra 4 with Makadara and Kibra each having 1 case.
In Mombasa, 4 are from Nyali, 3 from Mvita, 3 from Kisauni and 1 in Changamwe. Kiambu’s cases are from Limuru with 2 and 1 case each from Githunguri, Kabete, Ruiru, Thika and Kikuyu. Isiolo has 1 case from mandatory quarantine and Turkana’s case from Kakuma.
She also Announced that 9 more people have been discharged from hospital raising the recoveries to 393.
1 more person has succumbed to the disease within the same period bringing total deaths to 51.
