Numbers continue to rise with 309 testing positive

Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Dr. Rashid Aman has today announced that the ministry has tested 4,228 samples in the last 24 hours and from these, 309 people have tested positive for Corona virus. This now brings the case load in the country to 7,886. All of the cases are Kenyan Nationals except 7 with 217 being males and 92 females. The age distribution is between 1 year old for the youngest and 83 years for the oldest.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 193, Kajiado 22, Kiambu 20, Mombasa 18, Makueni 17, Busia 11, Machakos 9, Nakuru 8, Nandi 3, Turkana 3, Narok 2, Nyandarua 1, Kakamega 1 and Kilifi 1.

In Nairobi, Langata has 56, Kibra 18, Westlands 15, Dagoretti North 13, Kasarani 13, Ruaka 12, Embakasi East 11, Embakasi West 11, Makadara 10, Starehe 10, Embakasi South 6, Kamukunji 6, Roysambu 5, Embakasi Central 4, Dagoretti South 1, Embakasi North 1 and Mathare 1. In Kajiado, Kajiado East has 13, Kajiado North 6 and Kajiado Central 3.

In Kiambu, 9 are from Ruiru, Kabete 5, Kiambaa 2, Kikuyu 2 with Kiambu and Thika Town recording 1 each. In Mombasa, Mvita has 8, Jomvu 6, Changamwe 2, Likoni 1 and Nyali 1. In Makueni, all cases are from Makueni West. In Busia, Teso North has 6 and Teso South 5. All cases in Machakos are from Athi River, the cases in Nakuru are from Naivasha with 3, Gilgil 2, Nakuru East 2 and Nakuru West 1.

In Nandi, Emgwen has 2 and Nandi Hills 1. Turkana’s cases are in Turkana West, Narok’s cases are in Narok East and North, Kilifi’s cases is from Malindi, Nyandarua’s case is from Ol kalou and the case in Kakamega is in Lugari.

The CAS also announced 51 recoveries were recorded from various hospitals bringing recoveries to 2,287 while 1 more patient has succumbed to the disease bringing fatalities to 160.
