Number of recoveries continue to grow as 72 are discharged

Today 90 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed from a total of 2,419 samples tested in the last 24 hours, announced the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for Health, Dr. Rashid Aman. This now brings to 3,305 the total number of confirmed cases in the country.
From today’s cases, all are Kenyans with gender being 62 for males and 28 females. The age group is between 14 years for the youngest and 90 for the oldest.
The cases are in Nairobi with 36, Mombasa 34, Busia 12, Uasin Gishu 3 while Kilifi, Kisumu, Garissa, Turkana and Menu each having 1 case.
In Nairobi, the cases are from Kibra with 12, Makadara 5, Mathare 5, Kamukunji 4, Lang’ata 3, Westlands 2, Embakasi Central 2 while Dagoretti North, Embakasi South and Embakasi West each have 1 case. In Mombasa, Mvita has 14, Kisauni 8, and Likoni, Jomvu and Changamwe all having 4 cases each.
Busia’s cases are all of truck drivers from Malaba border point. Garissa’s case is from Garissa Township,Kilifi’s case from Kilifi North, Kisumu’s case from Kisumu Central, Meru’s case from Imenti Central and Turkana’s case from Turkana West.
The CAS reported that 72 people have been discharged from hospital after recovering, bringing to 1,164 the total number of recoveries. The number of deaths has risen to 96 as 4 more people have succumbed to the disease.
