Number of deaths on the rise as 2 more succumb

Kenya has recorded 72 new cases of Corona virus, announced Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr.Rashid Aman today during today’s daily press briefing.

This number was recorded from a total of 2,892 samples tested within the last 24 hours bringing number of infections in the country to 2,093.

From today’s number, 50 are males with 22 females with the age distribution being between 11 youngest and 73 being the oldest.

Nairobi recorded 39 cases, Busia 13, Mombasa 8, Kajiado 4, Migori 3, Kiambu 2, Garissa 2 and Kisumu 1. Nairobi’s distribution is in Kibra with 16, Embakasi South 8, Ruaraka 5, Westlands 5, Langata 2 and Starehe, Dagoretti North and Embakasi West having 1 each.

In Mombasa, 2 cases are from Mvita, 2 in Changamwe, Kisauni 2 with Likoni and Nyali having 1 each. In Migori, the 3 cases are from Isebania border point and Kiambu’s cases are from Githunguri.

In Kajiado, 3 of the cases are from Namanga border point and 1 from Kitengela, Garissa’s cases are from Garissa Town and in Kisumu, the case is from Kisumu Central.

The CAS also announced that 17 new people have been discharged from hospital raising the number of recoveries up to 499.

Sadly, 2 more patients have succumbed as a result of the virus bringing deaths now up to 71.
