Nairobi leading with infections with 171 confirmed in the county today

The ministry has today announced that 278 people have tested positive from 4,074 samples tested in the last 24 hours . This now brings the national tally of infections to 5,811.

All the cases are Kenyans except for 2, aged between 1 year old and 84 years old. In terms of gender, 181 are males and 97 females.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 171, Mombasa 37, Nakuru 17, Kiambu 12, Busia 10, Uasin Gishu 9, kajiado 4, Migori 3, Kericho 2, Machakos 2, Nandi 2, Trans Nzoia 2, Siaya 1, Taita Taveta 1, Kwale 1, Kisumu 1, Makueni 1, Meru 1 and Vihiga 1.

In Nairobi, Westlands has 34 cases, Langata 28, Dagoretti North 17, Makadar 16, Kibra 11, Embakasi East 10, Kasarani 9, Embakasi South 8, Kamukunji 8, Starehe 6, Embakasi West 5, Dagoretti South 5, Embakasi Central 4, Roysambu 4, Mathare 3, Ruaraka 2 and Embakasi North 1.

In Mombasa, Mvita has 14,Kisauni 5,  Jomvu 5, Likoni 5 and Changamwe 2. In Nakuru, 8 are from Nakuru East, 6 from Naivasha, 2 from Nakuru North and 1 from Nakuru West. In Kiambu, 5 are from Kiambu Town, 3 from Kikuyu,  2 from Kiambaa 1 from Thika Town and 1 from Githunguri.

In Busia, 7 are from Teso North, 2 from Teso South and 1 from Matayos. In Uasin Gishu, 3 are from Ainabkoi, 2 from Kapseret, 2 from Kesses and 1 each from Moiben and Turbo. In Kajiado, 3 are from Kajiado North and 1 from Kajiado East. The cases in Migori are from Awendo, Suna East and Kuria West.

In Kericho, the 2 cases are from Ainamoi while in Machakos Athi River and Machakos Town have 1 each.  The cases in Nandi are from Chesumei, Trans Nzoia’s cases are from Kwanza, Siaya’s case is from Gem, Taita Taveta’s case is from Voi, Kwale’s case is from Matuga, Kisumu’s case is from Kisumu Central, Makueni’s case is from Kilome, Meru’s case from Igembe and Vihiga’s case from Vihiga Town.

The CAS reported that a further 31 people have been discharged from various hospitals taking recoveries to 1,936 with the country also recording 4 more deaths taking the number of fatalities to 141.
