Nairobi continues to lead with 209 new infections

The ministry today announced 379 new infections have been recorded in the last 24 hours from a sample size of 7,050 tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings the number of infections in the country to 10,105.

From the positive cases, 376 are Kenyans with 3 foreign nationals all aged between between 2 years and 97 years old. Males make up 253 of the numbers and females 126.

Nairobi has 209 cases, Kiambu 49, Busia 38, Migori 19, Mombasa 16, Kajiado 12, Uasin Gishu 8, Lamu 6, Machakos 5, Nakuru 5, Narok 2, Wajir 2, Kisumu 2 while Garissa,Isiolo, Kericho, Nyamira, Nyeri and Trans Nzoia each recording 1 case each.

In Nairobi, Kibra has 52, Langata  45, Kamukunji 28, Dagoretti North 17, Makadara 17, Embakasi Central 9, Embakasi East 8, Westlands 7, Dagorettti South 4, Embakasi West 4, Kasarani  4, Roysambu 4, Ruaraka 2, Embakasi South 2, Mathare 1 and  Starehe 1.

In Kiambu, Ruiru has 16, Kiambu Town 15, Lari 7, Kikuyu 4, Limuru 2, Thika 2 with Gatundu South, Kabete and Kiambaa having 1 each. In Busia, Teso North has 18, Matayos 15 and Teso South 5. In Migori, Suna East  has 7, Kuria East 7 and Kuria West 5.

In Mombasa, 9 are from Mvita, 4 from Jomvu, 2 from Nyali and 1 case in Likoni. In Kajiado, 7 are from Kajiado East, 3 from Kajiado North and 2 from Kajiado Central. The cases in Uasin Gishu are from Turbo. In Lamu, all cases are from Lamu West while in Machakos, 3 are from Kathiani and 2 in Athi River.

The cases in Nakuru are from Naivasha with 4 and 1 from Nakuru West while in Kisumu, the cases are in Muhoroni and Nyando. In Narok, the cases are in Narok North,Wajir’s cases are in Wajir East, Garissa’s case is in Fafi, Nyamira’s case from Nyamira Town, Nyeri’s case from Kieni and Trans Nzoia’s case from Kiminini.

In the same period, 49 people have been discharged from various hospitals taking recoveries to 2,881 while 1 person has succumbed to the disease raising fatalities to 185.
