Movement restricted in and out of Mandera

The government today announced that it has ceased movement in and out of Mandera County after the county recorded 8 cases of Corona virus. This move, the government says, is part of the containment measures.
The Health CS announced that in the last 24 hours, from 707 samples tested, 7 people tested positive for Corona virus bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 303. All the 7 are Kenyans with 1 from Nairobi and 6 from Mombasa.
6 of the cases are from targeted mass testing and 1 was picked up by the surveillance teams. In terms of gender, 5 are males and 2 being females. The age range is between 21-61 years with none having a recent travel history.
He also announced that 9 more patients have been discharged from hospital and this brings the country’s recovered numbers to 83.
