Monitoring of close contacts continues with 15 more cases reported

The Chief Administrative Secretary for Health, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi announced today that 15 persons have tested positive for Corona virus disease in the last 24 hours from 545 samples tested. This now brings the total number to 296 confirmed cases.
She also went ahead to report that out of the new confirmed cases, 11 are Kenyans while 4 are foreign nationals.
Mombasa has 7 cases, 6 fro Nairobi and 2 from Mandera. In terms of gender, 7 are males and 8 are females with the age bracket being 19-75 years. 6 of the cases are from quarantine centres and 9 were picked by surveillance teams. The country has registered 5 more discharges bringing the number of recoveries to 74.
A total of 2,851 contacts have been monitored with 2,121 having being discharged with 730 contacts being followed.
A total of 14,417 samples have been tested till date, the Health CAS reported.
