Ministry shuts down quarantine facilities

There have been 5 new confirmed cases from a 308 samples tested within the last 24 hours, reported the Health CS, Hon . Mutahi Kagwe today. From the 5, 3 are Kenyans while 2 are foreign nationals. 3 of them had recently traveled, 1 each from Tanzania, UK and UAE.

Nairobi has 3 cases while Mombasa has 2. Only 1 of the cases was from the mandatory quarantine facilities with the rest being picked up by the ministry’s surveillance teams.The age range of today’s confirmed cases is between 39 years and 77 years. 3 are males while 2 are females. Thuis now brings the number of positive cases to 184.

He also announced that 4 more individuals have been discharged bringing to 12 the number of recoveries. From the 2,050 people that have been admitted in quarantine facilities, 880 have been discharged and in this regard a number of quarantine facilities have been closed down which includes Hill Park Hotels and Trademark Hotel.

Mombasa recorded one death from the virus bringing the number of deaths to 7
