Ministry confirms 699 new positive cases

The ministry has today announced that 699 people have tested positive from a sample of 7,175 tested in the last 24 hours.  The cumulative number now stands at 25,837 infections recorded in the country. 675 of the new cases are Kenyans with 24 being foreigners. 427 of the new cases are males with 272 being females aged between 3 year old and 85 years old for the oldest.

The country distribution of today’s cases is; Nairobi 414, Kiambu 54, Nakuru 21, Laikipia 11, Busia 9, Kericho 6, Homabay 4, Garissa 3, Migori 3, Kisumu 2, Nyandarua 2, Marsabit 1, Kajiado 81, Machakos 36, Uasin Gishu 15, Mombasa 9, Bungoma 7, Kisii 5, Bomet 3, Meru 3, Nandi 3, Muranga 2, Taita Taveta 2 and Siaya 1.

The number of recoveries has risen to 11,899 after 781 people have recovered and been discharged in the same period. However, 5 people have succumbed to the disease taking fatalities to 418.
