Ministry confirms 127 case

The country has recorded 127 new cases of Covid-19 from a total of 2, 247 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing number of confirmed cases in the country to 2,989. A total 24 people have also been discharged from hospital bringing recoveries to 873. Kenyan nationals are 124 with 3 being foreigners. Gender distribution is 84 for males and 33 females with age being a 3-week old infant for the youngest and 72 years for the oldest.

The Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr.Rashid Aman reported that the cases are distributed in Nairobi with 62, Mombasa 34, Busia 14, Machakos 4, Bungoma 3 and Kwale and Uasin Gishu 1 case aech.

Within Nairobi, the cases are in Kibra 21, Westlands 14, Rauraka 12, Kamukunji 5, Lang’ata 4, Dagoretti North 3 while Makadara, Embakasi Siuth and Embakasi West each having 1 case. Mombasa has cases from Mvita with 8, Nyali 7, Changamwe 6, Jomvu 6, Kisauni 4 and Likoni 3. In Busia all cases are truck drivers at Malaba Point of Entry while Kiambu’s cases are from Thika with 2 while Ruiru and Kikuyu having 1 each.

In Kilifi, 2 cases are from Kilifi North and Kilifi South together with Kaloleni has 1 case each. Machakos’ cases are from Athi River, Bungoma’s cases are truck drivers from Kanduyi, Kwale is from Matuga while in Uasin Gishu the case is from Kesses.

The CAS also announced that 3 people had died within the same period bringing fatalities to  88.
