Ministry announces 151 new positive cases

Health CAS, Dr. Rashid Aman has today announced that 151 people have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample of 2,552 tested in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of infections in the country now stands at 35,356. From today’s cases, 149 are Kenyans with 2 foreigners with gender distribution being 77 for females and 74 for males. The age distribution is 3 years for the youngest and 74 years for the oldest.
The counties to record cases are Kitui with 54, Nairobi 23, Uasin Gishu 11, Kiambu 9, Garissa 9, Migori 9, Kisii 7, Trans Nzoia 6, Narok 4, Kericho 3, Mombasa 2, Busia 2, Taita Taveta 2, Machakos 2, Kilifi 2 and Laikipia, Bomet, Nakuru, Meru, Nyandarua and Kajiado recording 1 case each.
In Kitui, 27 are from Kitui Central, 8 from Kitui Rural, 8 from Kitui West. Mwingi Central 5, Kitui East 4 with Kitui South and Mwingi North recording 1 case each. In Nairobi, 4 are from Embakasi South, Westlands 3, Dagoretti North, Dagoretti South, Embakasi West, Makadara and Ruiaraka each recording 2 cases each while Embakasi East, Embakasi North, Kibra, Lang’ata, Roysambu and Starehe have 1 case each. In Uasin Gishu, Ainabkoi has 10 while Soy has 1.
In Kiambu, Kiambaa, Kiambu Town, Ruiru and Thika each have 2 cases while Lari has 1. In Garissa, all cases are in Garissa Town while in Migori, 7 are from Suna East and 2 from Nyatike. In Kisii, all cases arer from Kitutu Chache South while in Trans Nzoia 3 are from Kiminini, 2 from Kwanza and 1 from Endebes. In Narok, 3 are from Trans Mara West and 1 from Narok East while the cases in Kericho are all from Ainamoi. The 2 cases in Mombasa are in Mvita nad Nyali while the cases in Busia are in Matayos.
In Taita Taveta, all cases are in Mwatate while in Machakos, Athi River and Machakos have 1 each. The cases in Kilifi are in Kaloleni and Kilifi South. Laikipia’s case is from Laikipia East, Bomet in Bomet East, Nakuru in Naivasha, Meru in Imenti North, Nyandarua in Kipipiri and in Kajiado the case is from Kajiado East.
The CAS also announced that a further 173 people have recovered, with107 being from home-based care while 66 were discharged from various hospitals. The total number of recoveries now stands at 21,483.
No deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours and the number still stands at 599.
