Kenya records 418 new cases with 494 recovering

The Health CAS, Dr. Rashid Aman has today announced that 418 Kenyans have tested positive for Covid-19 from a total of 2,474 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings the case load in the country to 13,771.

From today’s cases, 408 are Kenyans and 10 foreign nationals with 263 being males and 155 females all aged between 1 year old and 86 years old.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 292, Kiambu 54, Machakos 28, Kajiado 13, Mombasa 6, Nakuru 5, Narok 5, Meru 5, Kitui 3, Nyandarua 2, Nyeri 2, Busia 1, Garissa 1 and isiolo 1.

In Nairobi, Starehe has 31, Langata 27, Kibra 23, Westlands 21, Makadara 20, Roysambu 19, Embakasi East 18, Dagoretti North 17, Embakasi West 16, Dagoretti South 15, Embakasi South 15, Kasarani 14, Embakasi Central 13, Mathare 12, Embakasi North 11, Ruaraka 11 and Kamukunji 9. In Kiambu, 21 are from Kimabu Town, 12 from Limuru, 7 from Kiambaa, 5 from Kikuyu, 4 from Thika, 3 from Kabete and 2 from Ruiru. Machakos has 17 from Machakos Town, 9 from Athi River with Kathiani and Matungulu having 1 each.

In Kajiado, 8 are from Kajiado East and 5 from Kajiado North. In Mombasa, 3 are from Jomvu, 2 from Kisauni and 1 from Changamwe. In Nakuru, all 5 cases are from Nakuru East, in Narok, 2 are from Narok South, 2 from Transmara and 1 from Narok North. All cases in Meru are from Imenti North. In Kitui, all cases are in Kitui Central, all cases in Nyandarua are in Olkalou and in Nyeri all cases are from Nyeri Central. The case in Busia is from Teso North,Garissa’s case is from Garissa Town and Isiolo’s case is from Isiolo Town.

He also reported that 494 people have recovered from home based care and various hospitals bringing recoveries to 5,616 while 4 people have succumbed to the disease taking fatalities to 238.
