Highest number of recoveries recorded as 97 discharged

The ministry today has announced that 97 people have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours bringing recoveries up to 849. This is the highest number of confirmed recoveries in Kenya.

The Health Chief Administrative Secretary, Dr.Rashid Aman also announced that 95 new infections have also been recorded in the same period from 1,096 samples tested. The number of infections now stand at 2,862. From the cases, 92 are Kenyan Nationals while 3 are foreign nationals.In terms of gender, 57 are males with 38 females and age distribution being 1 year old for the youngest and 72 years for the oldest.

The counties affected are Nairobi with 13, Mombasa 56, Busia 10, Kajiado 6, Kilifi 3 and Kitui, Garissa, Kwale and Marsabit each having 1 case each. Marsabit becomes the latest county to record their first case bringing number of affected counties to 38.

In Nairobi, Kibra has 10 cases while Kasarani, Dagoretti North and Lang’ata each having 1 case. In Mombasa, Mvita has 22 cases, Changamwe 13, Nyali 7, Kisauni 6, Likoni 5 and Jomvu 3. In Busia, 9 cases are of truck drivers from Malaba border point while Busia border point has 1.

In Kajiado, 3 cases are from Kajiado Town, 2 from Kajiado East and 1 in Kajiado North while the cases in Nyeri are from community nurses from Nyeri Central. Kilifi’s cases are all from Kilifi North, Kitui’s case from Kitui Central , Kwale’s case from Msambweni, Garissa’s case from Daadab and Marsabit’s case from North Horr.

The CAS also reported that 1 person has succumbed from the disease bring fatalities to 85.
