First case of Corona virus crops in Kericho

The Chief Administrative Secretary for Health (CAS), Dr. Rashid Aman today has announced that the country has recorded 143 cases of Covid-19 infections. This now brings the number of infections to 1,888.
From this number, 110 male and 33 female with the youngest being 1 month and the oldest 88 years.
Nairobi has recorded 86 cases, Mombasa 25, Uasin Gishu 11, Kiambu 6, Busia 3, Kwale 3, Migori 3 and Kajiado, Kisii, Garissa , Isiolo ,Kericho and Makueni recording 1 each. Kericho joins the rest of the affected counties’ list as it records its first case.
The distribution of the cases in Nairobi is in Makadara with 45, Embakasi South 6, Kasarani 5, Ruaraka 3, Westlands 2, Embakasi West 2, Lang’ata 1 and Starehe 1. In Mombasa, 11 are in Likoni, Mvita 9, Jomvu 2, Nyali 2 and Changamwe with 1.
In Uasin Gishu, the 11 are truck drivers from Turbo while Kiambu has 3 in Kabete with Juja, Ruiru and Kiambaa having 1 each. In Busia, Alupe mandatory quarantine facility has 2 and Malaba point of entry 1. Kwale’s cases are all from Msambweni while Migori’s cases cases from Kuria West.
The recoveries number has continued to see an upward curve as 26 more people have been discharged today bringing number to 464.
The CAS also confirmed that 1 more person has succumbed to the disease with the national tally now standing at 63.
