Dr. Mercy Mwangagi: Persons who pass away must be buried within 24 hours

Health Chief Administrative Officer (CAS), Dr. Mercy Mwangagi today announced 16 more cases of Corona virus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours from a total of 530 samples tested bringing the total to 142 cases in the country.
Out of the new cases, 15 are Kenyans and 1 is a Nigerian national with 11 of these cases having a history of travel and 5 being locally transmitted. She stated that 9 are from quarantine facilities and 7 are from contact tracing.
The cases were confirmed in Nairobi with 12, Mombasa 3, and Kilifi 1. In terms of gender, 9 are males and 7 females aged between 22 years and 66 years.
The Health CAS informed the public that people who have died from the disease will have to be buried within 24 hours from time of death as a public safety measure and the burial will be only attended by less than 15 close family members.
