Country’s cumulative test at 502,003 as 96 test positive

Health CAS, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi has today announced that 96 people have tested positive from a sample of 3,270 tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings to 36,301 the total number of confirmed cases in the country. All cases are Kenyans except 4 with gender distribution being 70 for males and 26 for females. The youngest of the cases is 5 years old with the oldest being 81.

The county distribution is ; Nairobi 26, Kisii 10, Busia 8, Mombasa 7, Uasin Gishu 7, Kisumu 7, Machakos 6, Kericho 5, Kilifi 4,  Samburu 2, Nakuru 2, Kiambu 2 with Bomet, Embu, Kakamega, Makueni, Meru, Trans Nzoia, Narok and Taita recording 1 case each.

In Nairobi, 6 are from Westlands, 5 from Roysambu, 4 from Langa’ta, 3 from Embakasi East, 2 from Embakasi South and 1 each from Dagoretti North, Embakasi Central, Embakasi West, Kasarani, Kibra and Makadara. In Kisii, all cases are from Kitutu Chache South. In Busia, 7 are from Teso North and 1 from Matayos. In Mombasa, 4 are from Jomvu and 3 from Mvita. In Uasin Gishu, 4 are from Ainabkoi and 3 from Turbo while in Kisumu, 3 are from Nyando and 2 each from Kisumu Central and Kisumu West.

In Machakos, 4 are from Athi River and 1 from Machakos town while the cases in Kericho all cases are from Ainamoi. In Kilifi, there is one case each in Kaloleni, Kilifi North, Kilifi South and Malindi. The cases in Samburu are from Samburu Central while the cases in Nakuru are from Gilgil and Naivasha. The cases in Kajiado are all from Kajiado East while the cases in Kiambu are from Ruiru and Thika.

The case in Bomet is from Bomet Central, Embu’s case is from Lurambi, Makueni’s case is from Kibwezi West, Meru’s case is from Imenti South, Trans Nzoia’s case is from Cherangany, Narok’s case is from Trans Mara West and Taita Taveta’s case is from Taveta.

She also reported that 121 have recovered with 97 being from home based care while 24 have been discharged from various hospitals. The recoveries now stand at 23, 364. Another 10 people have succumbed from the disease bringing total fatalities 634.
