Country records 57 Covid-19 cases today

The Ministry of Health today announced that the number of confirmed cases for Covid-19 now stands at 887 after 57 people tested positive in the last 24 hours from a total of 2,198 samples tested.A statement released by the Government spokesman, Col. Cyrus Oguna stated that 34 of the cases are males and 22 females with the age distribution being between 2 years and 61 years.
Mombasa has 35 cases, 17 in Nairobi,3 in kajiado and 1 each in Kwale and Kitui. In Mombasa, the cases are distributed in Mvita with 22 cases,4 in Likoni, with Changamwe and Nyali having 3 cases each. In Nairobi, the cases are spread in Kibra with 9,Eastleigh 2 and Aga Khan Hospital,Kamulu, Dandora and Panganieach having 1 case each. The remaining 2 cases in Nairobi are from a mandatory quarantine centre.
In Kwale, the 1 case is from Msambweni while in Kitui the case is from Mwingi Town. Kajiado’s 3 cases are distributed in Kajiado central with 2 cases and kajiado North with 1.
12 other Tanzanian individuals, most of which are truck drivers, tested positive with 11 at Lunga Lunga border and 1 at Taveta border and were referred back to Tanzania.
The statement also said that 12 patients have been discharged from hospital bringing recoveries up to 313.
No fatalities were recorded.
