Cases still on the rise with 836 confirmed positive

Kenyan is still experiencing a surge in infection as 836 more people have tested positive for Corona Virus from a sample of 4,076 tested in the past 24 hours. This now brings to 50,833 the number of confirmed infections in the country. From the cases, 822 are Kenyans and 14 foreigners with 618 of today’s cases being males and 218 females. The youngest of the cases is 4 month old and oldest being 89.
The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 556, Uasin Gishu 68, Mombasa 62, Kiambu 32, Nakuru 24, Laikipia 22, Kajiado 12, Machakos 8, Kisumu 7, Murang’a 7, Meru 6, Nandi 5, Trans Nzoia 4, Turkana 4, Elgeyo Marakwet 3, Kisii 3, Baringo 2, Narok 2, Kakamega 2, Wajir 2 and Nyandarua, Samburu, Kilifi, Siaya and Homabay recording 1 each.
In Nairobi, 295 are from Langa’ta, Kibra 43, Westlands 31, Embakasi Central 22, Dagoretti North 21, Makadara 18, Ruaraka 16, Embakasi West and Kasarani recording 15 each, 14 from Embakasi East, Embakasi South and Roysambu, Dagoretti South 13, Embakasi North 12, Kamukunji 8, Mathare 3 and Starehe 2. In Uasin Gishu, 52 are from Ainamoi, Turbo 11, 2 each from Kesses and Soy and 1 from Kapseret. In Mombasa, 27 are from Mvita, 14 from Nyali, 7 each from Jomvu and Kisauni, 5 from Likoni and 2 from Changamwe. In Kiambu, 9 are from Kiambaa, 5 each from Kiambu Town and Kikuyu, 4 from Thika, 3 each from Kabete and Ruiru, 2 from Juja and 1 from Lari. In Nakuru all cases are from Naivasha while in Laikipia 21 are from Laikipia East and 1 from Laikipia West.
In Kajiado, 6 are from Kajiado North, 4 from Kajiado East and 1 each from Kajiado Central and Loitoktok. In Machakos, 6 are from Machakos Town and 2 from Athi River. In Kisumu, 4 are from Kisumu Central and 3 from Seme. In Murang’a, 4 are from Kandara and 3 from Kiharu while in Meru, there are 2 each from Imenti Central and Imenti SOuth and 1 each from Igembe North and Imenti North. In Nandi, there are 2 each from Mosop and Nandi Hills and 1 case from Chesumei. In Trans Nzoia, all cases are from Kiminini while the cases in Turkana are from Turkana West. In Elgeiyo Marakwet all cases are from Keiyo North with the cases in Kisii being from Kitutu Chache South with 2 and Borabu 1.The cases in Baringo are from Marigat, Narok’s cases from Narok East, Kakamega’s cases from Lurambi and Wajir’s cases from Wajir East. Nyandarua’s case is from Ol Kalou, Samburu’s case from Samburu Central, Kilifi’s case from Kaloleni, Siaya’s case from Gem and Homabay’s case from Homabay Town.
The ministry also announced that 403 people have recovered from the disease raising recoveries to 34,832 while 14 people have succumbed to the disease in the same time period taking fatalities to 934.
