CAS applauds health workers for more recoveries

The Health Chief Administrative Secretary, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi has today announced that 59 people have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample of 2,354 tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings the numbers to 4,797 infections in the country.

The cases are all Kenyans aged between 7 years and 67 years with 47 being males and 12 females.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 28, Mombasa 21, Kilifi 3, Kiambu 2, Machakos 2 and Kisii, Bungoma and Uasin Gishu each having 1 case.

In Nairobi, Dagoretti North has 7, Kibra 5, Embakasi East 4, Embakasi North 3, Westlands 3, Embakasi West 2, Embakasi Central 2 and Makadara and Roysambu having  1 each.

Mombasa has 8 cases from Kisauni, 5 from Likoni, 3 from Mvita, 2 from Nyali, 2 from Changamwe, and 1 from Jomvu. In Kilifi, Kaloleni, Kilifi North and South each have one case. In Kiambu, Kiambaa and Thika each have 1 case. Machakos’ case is from Athi River, Kisii’s case from Bobasi, Bungomas’s case from Webuye and Uasim Gishu’s case is from Turbo.

The CAS also announced that 73 more patients have been discharged from hospital raising recoveries to 1,680. She commended the health workers for this gain made.

She also reported that 2 more people have succumbed from the disease bringing fatalities to 125.
