727 people test positive, 14 succumb

Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe today announced that 727 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours from a total of  6,814 samples tested. This now brings the cumulative number of infections in the country to 25,138. From today’s numbers, 539 are males with 188 females with the age range being between 1 year old for the youngest and 91 for the oldest.

The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 393, Kajiado 108, Kiambu 53, Machakos 38, Nakuru 30, Busia 20, Narok 14, Laikipia 9, Mombasa 9, Makueni 8, Kisii 5, Kisumu 5, Kirinyaga 4, Meru 4, Kakamega 2 with Bomet, Elgeyo Marakwet, Garissa, Migori, Muranga and Nyeri all recording 1 case each.

He also confirmed that a total of 674 people have recovered and have been discharged raising the number of recoveries to 11,118. Another 14 people have died within the same period bringing fatalities to 413.
