4 month old infant among those who tested positive today

The ministry today announced that 181 people have tested positive from 2,131 samples tested in the past 24 hours bringing the case load in the country to 8,076. From today’s numbers, 179 are Kenyans with 2 foreigners, with 123 being males and 58 females. The youngest case is of a 4 month old infant with the oldest being 79 years.

In a statement released to the media, the Health Cabinet Secretary (CS), Mutahi Kagwe reported that the cases are distributed in Nairobi with 134, Kiambu 19, Mombasa 9, Kajiado 6, Machakos 6, Lamu 3, Muranga 2, Uasin Gishu 1 and Kirinyaga 1.

In Nairobi, Dagoretti North has 21, Embakasi East 21, Embakasi South 16, Westlands 11, Starehe 9, Mathare 8, Roysambu 8, Langata 6, Embakasi Central 5, Embakasi West 5, Kasarani 5, Makadara 5, Kibra 4, Dagoretti South 3, Embakasi North 3, Kamukunji 3 and Ruraka 1.

In Kiambu, 7 are from Thika, Limuru  3,Ruiru 3, Kabete 2, Kiambu Town 2, Juja 1 and Kikuyu 1. In Mombasa, 3 are from Jomvu, 2 from Kisauni, 2 from Mvita, 1 from Likoni and 1 from Nyali. In Kajiado, 3 are from Kajiado North, 2 from Kajiado East and 1 from Kajiado West.

In Machakos, all cases are from Athi River, Lamu’s cases are from Lamu West, the cases in Muranga are from Kiharu, Uasin Gishu’s case is in Ainabkoi and the case in Kirinyaga is from Mwea East.

He also reported that 127 have been discharged from hospitals bringing recoveries to 2,414 with 4 more people succumbing to the disease taking number of fatalities to 164.
