355 cases confirmed; 10 fatalities recorded

Health CAS, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi has today announced that 322 people have tested positive from 4,470 sample tested in the past 24 hours briging total number of infections in the country to 31,763. From the cases, 313 are Kenyans and 9 are foreigners with 179 being males and 143 females. The age distribution of the cases is 3 year old for the youngest and 92 years for the oldest.
The county distribution is; Nairobi 106, Kajiado 53, Machakos 25, Nakuru 25, Kiambu 23, Kisii 23, Busia 13, Mombasa 11, Kisumu 5, Bomet 5, Garissa 4, Homabay 4, Nandi 4, Uasin Gishu 3, Kitui 3, Nyandarua 3, Taita Taveta 3, Turkana 3, Nyamira 2, Kericho 1, Murang’a 1, Vihiga 1 and Makueni 1.
In Nairobi the cases are distributed in Kasarani with 14, Langata 11, Embakasi South 10, Kibra 10, Dagoretti North 9, Embakasi East 9, Westlands 9, Makadara 6, Embakasi West 5, Starehe 5, Kamukunji 4, Mathare 3, Roysambu 3, Ruaraka 3, Dagoretti SOuth 2, Embakasi Central 2 and Embakasi North 1. In Kajiado, 30 are from Kajiado East, 12 from Kajiado Central, 10 from Kajiado North and 1 from Loitoktok. In Machakos, 20 are from Athi River, 4 from Machakos Town and 1 from Mwala. In Nakuru, 21 are from Nakuru West and 4 from Naivasha.
In Kiambu, 6 are from Kiambu Town, 4 from Ruiru, 2 each from Githunguri, Juja, Lari, Limuru and Thika while Kabete, Kiambaa and Kikuyu have a case each. In Kisii, 20 are from Kituti Chache, 2 from Bonchari and 1 from Bobasi. In Busia, Teso North has 5, Teso South 5 and 3 from Matayos. In Mombasa, 6 are from Kisauni, 2 from Nyali and1 each from Changamwe, Likoni and Mvita. The cases in Kisumu are fro Kisumu East with 2 and Kisumu Central with 3. In Bomet, all cases are from Bomet East, in Garissa all are from Garissa Town and in Homabay all cases are from Rachuonyo South. The cases in Nandi are in Emgwen while in Uasin Gishu Ainabakoi, Moiben and Turbo each have a case each.
In Kitui, 2 are from Kitui Central and 1 from Mwingi Central while in Nyandarua all cases are from Kinangop. In Taita Taveta, Mwatate, Voi and Wundanyi each have a case while in Turkana all cases are from Turkana West. Nyamira’s cases are in Borabu while the case in Kericho is from Ainamoi.
The CAS also reported that 288 people have recovered and been discharged with 190 being from home-based care program while 98 were discharged from various hospitals. This now takes total recoveries to 18,157. She also disclosed that 16 patients have lost their lives in the same period taking fatalities to 532.
