312 recoveries recorded, 3 succumb

The ministry has today announced that 261 people have tested positive from a sample of 3,387 tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings to 39,184 the cumulative number of cases in the country. The gender distribution is 186 for males and 75 females while age distribution is 4 month old for the youngest and 80 years for the oldest.

The counties affected are Nairobi with 128, Kisumu 37, Mombasa 13, Kisii 12, Kilifi 11, Uasin Gishu 8, Machakos 7, Nakuru 5, kajiado 5, Kiambu 5, Meru 5, Kitui 4, West Pokot 3, Nyamira 3, garissa 2, Tharaka Nithi 2 with Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Homa bay, Embu, Lamu, Makueni, Nyeri, Siaya, Vihiga, Trans Nzoia and Kakamega each recording 1 each.

In Nairobi, 50 are from Starehe, 17 from Langata, 14 from Embakasi East, 7 from Roysambu, 6 from Westlands, 5 from Makdara, 4 each from Dagoretti North and Kamukunji, 3 each from Dagoretti South, Embakasi North, Kasarani and Kibra, 2 each from Embakasi Central, Embakasi South, Embakasi West and Ruaraka and  1 from Mathare. In Kisumu, 20 are from Kisumu Central, Nyando 15 and 1 each from Kisumu East and Kisumu West. In Mombasa, 5 are from Mvita and Kisauni, 2 from Changamwe and 1 from Nyali. In Kisii, 7 a re from Kitutu Chache South,3 from Nyaribari Chache and 2 from Bonchari.

In Kilifi, 10 are from Magarini and 1 from Malindi. In Uasin Gishu, Ainabkoi and Kapseret have 3 cases each with Kesses and Turbo recording 1 case each. In Machakos, Athi River and Machakos have 2 cases each and 1 each from Kangundo, Kathiani and Yatta.In Nakuru, 3 are from Nakuru East and 1 each from Gilgil and Molo. In Kajiado, Kajiado East and Kajiado North have 2 cases each with 1 case in Kajiado West. I Kiambu, 2 are from Kikuyu and 1 each from Githunguri, Juja and Thika while in Meru, Igembe North has 3 and 1 each from Imenti Central and Imenti North.  In Kitui, all cases are from Kitui Central while in West Pokot 2are from West Pokot amd 1 from South Pokot.

In Nyamira, 2 are from the town and 1 from Masaba North while in Garissa there is 1 case each from Dadaab and the town. In Tharaka Nithi there is 1 case each from Chuka and Mwimbi. Nandi’s case is from Chesumei, Elgeyo Marakwet’s case from Marakwet East, Homabay’s case is from Rachuonyo South, Embu’s case from Manyatta, Lamu’s case from Lamu West, Makueni’s case from Makueni, Nyeri’s case from Nyeri Central,Siaya’s case from Alego Usonga, Vihiga’s case from Sabatia, Trans Nzoia;s case from Kwanza and Kakamega’s case from Lurambi.

Another 312 people have recovered and been discharged, with 229 from Home-based care program and 83 discharged from various hospitals. The recoveries now stand at 26, 426 while the number of fatalities rose to 728 as 3 people succumbed to the disease.
