278 test positive

The ministry has today announced that 278 people have tested positive from a total of 3,053 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings the total number of infections in the country to 8,528.
From today’s cases, 266 are Kenyans with 12 foreigners and 194 are males with 84 females. In terms of age, the youngest is 4 years old and the oldest 72.
The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 131, Kiambu 32, Busia 29, Migori 23, Machakos 20, Kajiado 13, Taita Taveta 8, Vihiga 7, Mombasa 5 ,Nakuru 4, Isiolo 2, Makueni 2, Meru 1 and Kisii 1.
In Nairobi, Dagoretti North has 34, Kibra 22, Ruaraka 14, Langata 13, Westlands 10, Kasarani 9, Embakasi East and Embakasi South 7 each, Makadara 5, Embakasi West and Roysambu 3 cases each, Starehe 2, Embakasi West 1 and Mathare 1. In Kiambu, 7 are from Thika, Kabete 5, Kiambu 5, Kikuyu 5, Kiambaa 4, Juja 3 with Githunguri, Lari and Ruiru having 1 each.
In Busia, 14 are from Teso South, 8 from Teso North and 7 from Matayos. In Migori, 8 are from Loitoktok, Kajiado East 3 and Kajiado North 2. All cases in Taita Taveta are from Voi and all cases in Vihiga from Vihiga. In Mombasa, all 5 are from Mvita while in Nakuru the cases are from Naivasha. In Makueni, the cases are from Wote, the cases in Isiolo are from Isiolo Town,in Kisii the case is from Kitutu Chache South and in Meru the case is in Imenti North.
Another 89 people have recovered in the same period bringing recoveries to 2,593 while at the same time 2 people lost their lives to the disease bringing deaths to 169.
