18 Counties now affected as death toll rises to 29

Kenya recorded 25 more cases today out 1075 samples tested bringing the total number of infections to 607.

The Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Rashid Aman said that from this number 17 were from Nairobi, 2 from Wajir, 2 from Kajiado and 1 each from Mombasa, Migori, Isiolo and Nakuru. Isiolo became the latest County hit by the Corona virus pandemic as it recorded its first case today bringing the total counties affected to 18 since the first case was reported in Kenya on 12th March, 2020. 22 of the cases are Kenyans, 1 Ugandan, 1 Tanzanian and 1 Chinese national.

The cases in Nairobi were spread out in Eastleigh with 9, 2 in Kawangware, 2 in Parklands, 1 in Riruta,1 in South C, 1 in Umoja and 1 in Juja Road. The case in Mombasa was from Likoni while that of Nakuru was from Solai.

In terms of age distribution, the youngest was 8 years and the oldest being 73 years. Gender distribution was 21 males and 4 females.

The Health CAS also said that 7 people were discharged bringing the total recoveries to 197.

He also announced that 3 patients had died fro the disease, 2in Nairobi and 1 from Mombasa bringing the total deaths to 29.
