176 test positive with country recording 329 recoveries

Health CS, Mutahi Kagwe has today announced 176 new infections reported in the last 24 hours from a sample of 4,115 tested. This now brings the number of confirmed cases in the country to 35,969. All of the cases are Kenyans except 5 with 132 being males and 44 females. Age distribution is 3 month old infant for the youngest and 78 for the oldest.

The counties affected are Nairobi 32, Nakuru 29, Mombasa 22, Kajiado 14, Kisii 9, Kisii 9, Kiambu 7, Garissa 6, Nyeri 6, Migori 6, Kisumu 6, Vihiga 6, Uasin Gishu 5, Kwale 5, Meru 5, Narok 3, Kericho 2, Nyandarua 2, Busia 2, Kitui 2 with Murang’a, Homabay, Kilifi, Laikipia, Embu, Machakos and Baringo recording 1 case each.

In Nairobi, Starehe has 9, 3 each from Dagoretti North, Embakasi East, Kasarani and Westlands, 2 each from Langata and Roysambu and 1 each from Dagoretti South, Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Embakasi West, Kamukunji, Kibra and Ruaka. In Nakuru, 18 are from Naivasha, 7 from Nakuru East,  and 4 from Nakuru West. In Mombasa, 7 are from Kisauni, 5 from Mvita, 4 from Jomvu, 3 from Nyali 2 from Changamwe and 1 from Likoni. In Kajiado, 7 are from Loitoktok, 5 from Kajiado East and 2 from Kajiado North. In Kisii, all cases are from Kitutu Chache South.

In Kiambu, 4 are from Thika, 2 from Kiambu Town and 1 from Kiambaa. In Nyeri, 5 are from Nyeri Central and 1 from Mukurweini. In  Migori, 4 are from Kuria West while 2 from Suna East. In Kisumu, 5 are from Kisumu Central and 1 from Nyakach. The cases in  Vihiga are from Hamisi Town with 4 and 2 from town. In Uasin Gishu, 2 are rom Ainabkoi and 1 each from Kapseret and Soy. The cases in Kwale are all from Kinango while in Meru 4 are from Imenti North and 1 from Imenti Central.

In Narok, the cases are all from Narok North while in Kericho Bureti and Ainamoi have 1 each.  In Nyandarua there is 1 case each from Kipiripiri and Ol Kalou. In Busia all are from Teso North and in Kitui all are from Kitui West. Murang’as case is from Kandara, Homabay’s case is from Ndhiwa, Kilifi’s case is from Kilifi North, Laikipia’s case from Laikipia West, Embu’s case from Mbeere South, Machakos’ case from Athi River and Baringo’s case from Mogotio.

He also reported that 329 more people have recovered raising number of recoveries to 22,771. 3 more people have succumbed in the same period raising deaths to 619.
