Today 167 cases of Corona virus have been reported by the Ministry of Health through Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe. The number comes from a total of 2,833 samples tested within the last 24 hours. Thus now brings number of infections in the country to 2,767.

The cases are made up of 162 Kenyans and 5 foreigners. Gender distribution is 125 for males and 42 females while the age distribution is 11 months for the youngest and 75 years for the oldest.

The distribution of the cases in counties is; Nairobi 54, Mombasa 47, Busia 28, Kiambu 14, Uasin Gishu 11, Kisumu 4, Machakos 3 while Migori, Makueni, Kwale, Siaya and Turkana each recording 1 case. In Nairobi, 21 of the case are from Westlands, Kibra 6, Embakasi South 6, Embakasi West 5, Kamukunji 4, Langa’ata 4. Kasarani 3, Makadara 2, Dagoretti North 2 and Embakasi East 1.

In Mombasa, Mvita has 14 cases, Jomvu 11, Kisauni 7, Changamwe 6, Nyali 6 and Likoni 3.In Busia, all cases are of truck drivers with 22 of them from Malaba POE and 6 at Busia border point. In Kiambu, 9 are from Kikuyu, 2 from Thika and Kiambu Town, Juja and  Gatundu having 1 case each. In Uasin Gishu, 5 are from Soy, 3 from Turbo while Ainabkoi, Kapseret and Kesses each having 1 case.

Kisumu’s cases are from Kisumu Central with 3 and 1 in Kisumu West. The cases in Machakos are all from Athi River,Kuria East in Migori, Ndiwa in Homabay, Msambweni in Kwale, Alego Usonga in Siaya and Kakuma refugee camp in Turkana.

A total of 46 patients have been discharged today from various health facilities bringing number of recoveries to 752 while the number of fatalities rose to 84 with 1 more patient succumbing to the disease.
