Another 637 test positive, 499 recovering

The country has today recorded 637 new cases from 4,275 samples tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings to 14,805 the cumulative number of cases recorded in the country. Out of today’s numbers, 623 are Kenyans while 14 are foreign nationals all aged between 1 year and 88 years old. Males make up 361 while 276 are females.
The cases are distributed in Nairobi with 342, Machakos 85, Kajiado 57, Kimabu 51, Nakuru 22, Mombasa 17, Nyeri 13, Busia 10, Muranga 9, Uasin Gishu 6, Bomet 5, Kericho 3, Kisii 3, Marsabit 2 with Narok, Vihiga, Meru, Embu, Garissa, Homabay, Kakamega, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kisumu,Kitui and Laikipia recording 1 each.
In Nairobi, the sub counties affected are Kamukunji with 44, Westlands 32, Langata 31, Embakasi South 26, Dagoretti North 24, Embakasi East 24, Kasarani 23, Embakasi West 19, Kibra 18, Makadara 17, Starehe 17, Ruaraka 14, Embakasi Central 13, Embakasi North 11, Roysambu 11, Mathare 10 and Dagoretti South 8. The cases in Machakis are in Athi River with 73, Machakos 11 and Kangundo 1. In Kajiado, 25 are from Kajiado North, 20 from Kajiado East, 10 from Kajiado Central and 2 from Loitoktok. In Kiambu, 12 are from Kabete, 7 from Thika, 7 from Kikuyu, 6 from Lari, 6 from Ruiru, 5 from Gatundu South, 4 from Kiambaa, 2 from Limuru with Juja and Githunguri recording 1 each.
In Nakuru, 19 are from Naivasha with 3 from Nakuru East. Mombasa has 9 cases in Mvita, 3 from Changamwe, 2 from Jomvu, 2 from Kisauni and 1 in Nyali. Nyeri’s cases are all from Nyeri Central. Busia has 9 cases in Matayos and 1 case in Teso North. Muranga has 8 cases in Maragua and 1 case in Kigumo. In Busia, Turbo and Kesses each have 3 cases, Bomet’s cases are in Bomet Central, Kericho’s cases in Ainamoi, Kisii’s cases in Kitutu Chache South with the cases in Marsabit in North Horr.
In Narok, the case is in Trans-mara West, Vihiga in Vihiga Town, Meru in Imenti North, Embu in Manyatta, Garissa in Garissa Town, Homabay in Suba North, Kakamega in Lurambi, Kilifi in Kaloleni, Kirinyaga in Kirinyaga Central, Kisumu in Kisumu Central, Kitui in Kitui West and finally the case in Laikipia is in Laikipia East.
The CAS also announced that a steady recovery trend has been observed with 499 patients recovering in the same period bringing recoveries to 6,757. Sadly, 10 more people have lost their lives bringing fatalities to 260.
