1,211 confirmed cases reported with 17 succumbing to the disease

The ministry of health has today announced that 1,211 people have tested positive from a sample of 9,304 tested in the last 24 hours bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 76,404. From today’s cases, 1,169 are Kenyans and 42 foreigners with the gender distribution being 722 for males and 489 females. In terms of gender, the youngest is a 1 month old infant and the oldest being 95.

The county distribution is ; Nairobi 410, Mombasa 102, Migori 93, Bungoma 79, Uasin Gishu 55, Kiambu 42, Nakuru 40, Kilifi 39, Nyeri 30, Kisumu 30, Busia 28, Laikipia 27, Turkana 26, Machakos 25, Meru 25, Kisii 24, Kajiado 21, Trans Nzoia 17, Kakamega 12, Nyamira 12, Homabay 11, Siaya 9, Narok 8, Kitui 7, Embu 5, Nandi 4, Kwale 4, Murang’a 4, Kericho 4, Garissa 4, Taita Taveta 3, Lamu 3, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Isiolo 2, Tana River 2 with Wajir and Makueni recording 1 case each.

In Nairobi, Kibra has 66, Lang’ata 44, Dagoretti North 34, Embakasi West and Westlands 30 each, Starehe 29, Embakasi Central 24, Ruaraka 22, Kamukunji 21, Dagoretti South 20, Makadara 19, 15 each from Embakasi East, Embakasi North and Roysambu, Kasarani 10, Mathare 9 and Embakasi South 7. In Mombasa, Mvita has 46, Jomvu 24, Kisauni 12, Nyali 9, Likoni 8 and Changamwe 3. In Migori, Rongo has 33, Suna East 30, Kuria West 12, Nyatike 11 and Awendo 7.In Bungoma, Kandunyi has 73, 2 each from Kabuchai and Kimilili and 1 each from Bumula and Mt. Elgon.

In Uasin Gishu, Ainabkoi has 37, Turbo 6, Kesses 5, Kapseret 4 and Soy 3 while in Kiambu, Thika has 12, Kiambaa 8, Ruiru 6, Kiambu Town 4, 3 each from Githunguri and Kikuyu and 2 each from Juja, Lari and Gatundu South. In Nakuru, 15 are from Naivasha, Nakuru East 9, Nakuru North 6, Rongai 5, 2 each from Gilgil and Nakuru  West and 1 from Molo. In Kilifi, Malindi has 18, Kaloleni  14 and Kilifi North  7 while in Nyeri ,Mathira East has 15, Nyeri Central 12 and Mathira West 3. In Kisumu, Kisumu Central has 27, Kisumu East 2 and Nyakach 1. In Busia, Matayos has 12, Teso North 11 and Teso South 5.

In Laikipia, Laikipia East has 21 and Laikipia West 6. In Turkana, Turkana Central and Turkana West have 13 each. In Machakos, Athi River has 13, Machakos Town 7, Kangundo 2 and 1 each from Kalama, Kathiani and Matungulu. In Meru, Imenti North has 20, Imenti South 4 and Buuri 1 with all cases in Kisii coming from Kitutu Chache South. In Kajiado, Kajiado East has 10 cases, Kajiado North 9 and Loitoktok 2. In Trans Nzoia, Kwanza has 7, Kiminini 5, Saboti 3 andd  Cherangany 2. In Kakamega, Lurambi has 7, Mumias West 2 and 1 each from Malava, Matungu and Navokholo. In Nyamira,  Nyamira Town has 6, 2 each from Manga and Masaba North and 1 each from Borabu and Nyamira North.

In Homabay, Homabay Town has 8, Rangwe 2 and Suba South 1. In Siaya, Alego Usonga and Gem has 4 each and Bondo 1. In Narok, all cases are from Narok North while the cases in Kitui are from Kitui Central and Mwingi Central with 3 and 1 from Kitui South. In Embu, 3 are from Runyenjes and 2 from Manyatta. Nandi has 2 cases each from Emgwen and Mosop with all cases in Kwale coming from Msambweni. In Murang’a, Kiharu has 2 and 1 each from Kandara and Maragua with all cases in Kericho coming from Ainamoi. All cases from Garissa are from Dadaab.

In Taita Taveta, all cases are from Voi while all cases in Lamu are from Lamu West. The cases in Elgeyo Marakwet are from Keiyo North while the cases in Isiolo are from Garbatulla and Isiolo Town. Tana River’s cases are from Bura and Galole, Wajir’s case from Wajir East and Makueni’s case from Makueni.

A reported 368 people have recovered within the same period with 265 being from home based program and 103 having been discharged from various hospital. Recoveries now stand at 51,352 with fatalities rising to 1,366 as 17 succumb.
